Day Course - What is Death10am - 5pm, costs £15 including lunch
Suppose our doctor were to break the news to us that we are suffering from an incurable disease and that we have only one week left to live. If our friend were then to offer us a fantastic gift such as a diamond, a new car, or a free holiday we would not get very excited about it. Yet in reality this is our very predicament, for we are all suffering from a mortal disease. How foolish it is to become overly interested in the passing pleasures of this brief life!
During this day course we will learn about the Buddhist view of death, and how Buddhists develop a peaceful mind toward there deaths and look beyond it to what comes next.
This course will be taught by our resident teacher Gen Kelsang Rigma. Please contact us to book or if you have any further enquiries.
Day Course - What Comes Next?10am - 5pm, costs £10 including tea and snacks
The mind is neither physical, nor a by-product of purely physical processes, but is a formless continuum that is a separate entity from the body. When the body disintegrates at death the mind does not cease. Although our superficial conscious mind ceases, it does so by dissolving into a deeper level of consciousness, the very subtle mind; and the continuum of the very subtle mind has no beginning and no end. Because of this death is not the end for us but merely the beginning of our next life - our future life. During this day course we will learn about death and rebirth according to Buddha's understanding and experience, and how we can use this knowledge to benefit our life both now and in the future.
This course will be taught by an experienced meditation teacher from Khedrubje Buddhist Centre. Please contact us to book or if you have any further enquiries.
